Optics & Adapters

2x Anamorphic
An anamorphic adapter with single focus functionality, built using the Bell & Howell Single Focus Anamorphic Projection Lens. The original focusing helicoid was replaced, and a custom 3D-printed case was created to house the optics for improved focus pulling. It is recommended to use the support shown in the image.
Pros:
- Easy to use
- interchangeable taking lenses
- Affordable compared to having a set of Anamorphic lens
Cons:
- Not as robust as a purpose built anamorphic lens
- no focus markings
- loss of light transmission
Macro Lens V1.
Inspired by the Laowa Cine Probe lens and its extreme close-ups, I set out to create my own version. Using a rear lens cap, optics from an old point-and-shoot, glue, and gaff tape to prevent light leaks, I built a custom lens to capture those unique shots.

Pros:
- Extremely Affordable
- Lightweight
- Unique Visuals
Cons:
- No Aperture Control
- No Focus Control (yet)
- No Filter Threads

1.33x Anamorphic
I’ve always loved the anamorphic look for its unique aesthetic, but my larger lenses are too heavy and bulky to carry around. For this project, I used a phone anamorphic adapter with a custom 3D-printed housing that attaches to a filter thread on my Sigma 30mm f/2.8 lens.
Pros:
- Lightweight
- Affordable
Cons:
- Focus is unreliable at below f/5.6
- Needs multiple step up ring to use a filter
